Summary: Meet and Greet customers, sell, merchandise and maintain footwear including men’s, women’s and youth footwear such as shoes, work and hiking boots, sneakers, socks, and insoles, in a retail establishment. Duties include special ordering and receipt of order, informing customers of delays and handling complaints, pricing, cleaning sales area and helping order footwear.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned.

 

Meet and Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs

Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs and desires.

Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.

Describe merchandise and explain use, operation, and care of merchandise to customers.

Use cash registers, performing tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers.

Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges.

Compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment.

Maintain records related to sales.

Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts, and know how to prevent or handle these situations.

Ticket, arrange and display merchandise to promote sales.

Inform customers by mail or telephone of order information, such as unit prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays.

Receive and respond to customer complaints.

Check inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.

Attempt to sell additional merchandise or services to prospective or current customers

File copies of orders, or post orders on records.

 

Education and/or Experience  Requires a high school diploma and or retail experience.
